The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for Graduate Design Engineers to join our client and work across the following disciplines Electronics Software/Hardware, CAE Analysts, Interior Trim, Exteriors, Closures and Lighting, Chassis and Powertrain.

Overview of the Role:

  • Graduate Design Engineers
  • Salary – £30,000 to £31,000 plus a £2,000 one off joining fee
  • Holidays: 25 days plus 8 Bank Holidays

Responsibilities

  • Company Policies: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company.
  • Support the full design and development of CAD, administration activity; BOM (Bill of Materials), DVP (Design Verification Plan), Family Tree and Release activity in-line with NPI process and customer specific process.
  • Support idea generation and problem resolution through day-to-day working and structured Design Reviews.
  • Work closely with Engineering Analysts (FEA) to meet design targets and drive the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process.
  • Communicate with your Lead Engineer to ensure you have the necessary level of support and help when required.
  • Support the Engineering Team to ensure project deliverables are achieved
  • Communicate design solutions to internal stake holders and external customers
  • Support BOM and DFMEA reviews and develop understanding of these processes
  • Participate in the sign off process relative to your commodity in line with NPI
  • Participate in formal and on the job training which will be provided regards the use of software and design techniques.

Essential Skills

  • Engineering degree -equivalent within a relevant subject
  • Industry Experience
  • Understanding of CAD and CAE Literacy (Catia V5)
  • Use of Microsoft packages Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Engineering design knowledge
  • Understanding importance of engineering change requests and claim management
  • Excels in organisational skills and time management
  • A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity
  • Professional attitude and ability to work in multi-disciplines teams
  • Discipline to follow technical and administrational procedures

Desirable

  • Masters degree
  • Ability and awareness of design to manufacturing process
  • CAD Experience, CATIA V5
  • GD&T Knowledge and understanding
  • Understanding of budget management
  • Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes
