The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Payroll & HR Assistant.

Assisting the close-knit HR and payroll team with their daily duties supporting across various businesses, you will be responsible for the accurate record keeping for all employees in our HR database. Our HR database is routinely audited by our Payroll and Compliance Officer to ensure we are fully compliant across our group of businesses in line with employment legislation.

Assisting with the monthly payroll process, you will have great attention to detail to cross check timesheets, absence reports, and liaise with employees and managers to ensure that the payroll is processed accurately and in line with company procedure each month.

 Responsibilities

  • Obtaining signed offer letters and contracts of employments with onboarding documentation for all new starters to be added to the HR database and Payroll software systems
  • Maintaining all accurate HR and Payroll records chasing any outstanding documents
  • Always assisting the Payroll and Compliance Officer with monthly payroll: collating information and reporting on these areas
  • Collating and checking weekly and monthly timesheets and raising queries on any discrepancies with employees/managers
  • Ensuring all absences are recorded in line with company procedures and the HR system and payroll is kept up to date
  • Assisting Managers and Directors with HR/Payroll information/reporting as required
  • Assisting the Payroll and Compliance Officer with employee asset management
  • Pension administration including cyclical re enrolments  
  • Various other ad-hoc HR and Payroll administration tasks as and when required

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Payroll is essential
  • Sage 50 Payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and confident with calculations
  • Pension administration experience strongly preferred
  • Good knowledge and experience of processing/calculating statutory payments: Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity/Paternity Pay, etc.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR legislation
  • Ability to work to deadlines and multitask
  • Must always take pride in your work
  • Ability to analyse data and looking for anomalies and highlight these to be rectified
  • Ability to work with honesty and integrity and always keep information and data confidential, due to the nature of the role and data you will be working with
